next few days.
Added new page, "You club needs you!" which carries a list of roles
that are currently vacant and areas that the club could use help with.
4th October 2003
I've not updated this page too much recently. Most work on the 500 site is currently directed at the new (V3) version which I will open to testing in the near future. The workshop passowrd is now back up to date with the August magazine and will remain so until the October magazine has been distributed and everyone has had a chance to receive it.
16th November 2002
Added an award page with photos of the trophy we received at the International Classic Car Show at the NEC.
9th November 2002
Externsive updates to the workshop section (members only).
Brian has supplied me with 24 technical tips now and each can be downloaded
as a PDF document.
Updated the workshop password in recognition of the new tips and to make access
for new members simpler.
2nd November 2002
Updated the shop. New items included the excellent golf umbrellas,
some jotter pads and a new embroidered badge.
Updated the magazine archives to bring them up to date. Thanks to Dee for coming
to the rescue after my scanner died.
Updated the about us page to reflect the recent changes to the club officers
and organisers, post 2002 AGM.
6th August
Modified the workshop page, there was a typo for the page number.
31st July 2001
Updated with new magazine, tech tips password updated too.
23rd June 2001
Hmmm, I discovered that all the new tech tips were pointing to number 8! I've corrected this please have another go.
18th June 2001
Well things have settled down a little and the new server seems to be doing fine. I've added a whole bunch of new tech tips from Brian Rylance so take a look threough the members section.
19th May 2001
We have moved. We are now on the new server, owned, maintained and run by me so things may not be any better than before but at least I have full control!!!
I'm in the process of repairing all the stuff that was broken by the move and the work being done by Interliant prior to the work.
Some people (Marie) are having problems still. This appears to be a DNS issue with AOL primarily but possibly other US ISPs too. In theory everything should clear in the next day so if you are contacted by someone who cant get in tell them to be patient and if they still can't get in on sunday evening to mail me and I'll see if there is anything else I can do.
Further update: I'm now in the process of adding some new features to the site. the new Gallery is now available. there is a public gallery which anyone can post to, please don't abuse this as I will have to restrict it otherwise. If you are a member or have a special case and want to maintain a gallery of your own, I can set one up for you. you will then have complete control over it. All of this is of course space permitting, the public gallery will be the first to be trimmed if we ever run short of space. I'll let you all know if this is the case. Try to remember that many people are on slow links and don't want to spend half an hour downloading a photo of your pride and joy. keep pictures toa reasonable size.
2nd May 2001
Added the latest magazine (April 2001)
The site will soon be moving to a new server hosted in the UK. There may (will) be some disruption I'm sure so please be patient. At the moment we are at the mercy of the current hosts, hopefully the name registrars (to whom all movement of fiat500club.org.uk has to be notified) will carry out my changes before things get changed, At which point you wil automatically start to see the new site, which will look much the same initially but you may find that some of the more recent chat entries are lost for a while.
23rd March 2001
Beginning to get things back in order
Added the latest magazine
Added some new products to the shop and deleted some that are now sold out.
I hope to get to the point where the events secretary will be adding new events to the rather dejected looking events calendar soon.
Another quick change. Updated the AboutUs page to reflect the current committee and correct typos etc.
13th March 2001
The chat board broke, though I think you all new that. thanks for reporting it everyone who did. It is now hopefully fixed but I've made some major changes to get it to do so including a whole new version of the software that is used, so there will doubtless be some wrinkles to iron out.
I've got loads of other stuff to do but it will have to wait until I can get through this flood of emails (I downloaded 372 when I got home on Sunday!)
For now I'm going to grab some sleep.
28th January 2001
It's been a long time coming but here is the latest update. I've added a new tech tip in the workshop section and updated the password so that new members can get to it too. Simply click on the workshop button on the menu and you will find the username and password clue required.
I've added two of the missing magazines, the August issue will be added when I find my copy!
Hopefully I've repaired the links database, it seems like there is a bug in the script which causes it to destroy the database. I have not been able to reporduce this bug so it is still there so take care and if you think that something has happened (there are no links listed) let me know.
I've given editorial control of the events database to our events coordinators. They should be able to keep it more up to date than I ever could.
25th August 2000
Added some articles to the workshop area and I will now post the clue to the password. Have your 500 News at the ready.
10th August 2000
The long awaited 500 shop with images has now arrived.
A new links service has been added. Other sites may now add a reciprocal link to their site from ours. But beware it will occasionally check that the link back to us is in place.
and I actually uploaded the changes listed for yesterday.
9th August 2000
Release of new look front page - General tidy up, new menu with new sections on it.
Latest magazine added to archives - Does what it says on the tin.
Addition of new guest book service - New guestbook, replacement for the much lamented guestbook service, which was removed due to it's unreliability and it's over use as a conversational/chat facility. this one hopefully not suffer the same.
New members only section "workshop" to feature in-depth technical articles. Password will be given in "code" on 500 Chat
General cleanup
....oh and a new 'What's new' page to keep track of it all.
